Ganadores de los Critics’ Choice Awards 2023 – Everything Everywhere all at Once, la favorita del año

Celebrando su edición 28, se ha entregado esta noche los premios de la asociación estadounidense y canadiense de Críticos, que hoy en día elige lo favorito del cine y las series.

La gala arrancó con el liderazgo de “Everything Everywhere All At Once” con 14 nominaciones y terminó convirtiéndose en la película favorita del año, según esta organización, tras recibir, entre otros, el galardón a Mejor Película.

El largometraje original de Daniel Kwan y Daniel Scheinert obtuvo cuatro premios más: el de mejor dirección, mejor actor reparto, mejor guion original y mejor montaje.

El primer premio entregado en las categorías de cine fue para “RRR”, la película que puede verse en Netflix, fue elegida como la mejor producción extranjera, superando a largometrajes como “Decision to Leave”, “Close” y “Argentina 1985”. Esta última se llevó ese mismo galardón en los Globos de Oro.

No todos los premios del cine fueron anunciados en la transmisión en vivo, así que los momentos más destacados se dieron cuando Guillermo del Toro recibió un nuevo premio por su extraordinaria versión animada de “Pinocho”, entregando un discurso que ha sostenido durante toda la temporada de premios: “La animación también es cine, la animación no es un género, sino un medio”. Y el otro momento, esperado por tantos seguidores desde que la película se estrenara en el Festival de Venecia, fue cuando a Brendan Fraser le entregaron el premio a Mejor Actor por su actuación principal en “The Whale” de Darren Aronofsky. En los Globos de Oro, no pudo darse el premio, tras las acusaciones del actor al expresidente de la organización, Philip Berk, por acoso sexual. Así se lo dieran, no pensaba asistir. Y no se lo asignaron. En los Globos de Oro ese galardón se lo llevó Austin Butler por encarnar a Elvis Presley, en el biopic musical “Elvis”.

Entre los invitados hubo un par de ausencias; la de Michelle Pfeiffer y Collin Farrel, quienes no pudieron estar en la ceremonia por dar positivo en las pruebas de Covid. La actriz había sido encargada de presentar el homenaje a Jeff Bridges, quien recibió el galardón a toda una trayectoria, mientras que Farrel estaba nominada en la competida categoría de mejor actor.
