Nominados a los Critics Choice Documentary Awards 2021 – “Ascension” y “Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)” lideran la lista

Desde Brooklyn, en Nueva York, se realizará la gala de premiación de los Critics Choice Documentary Awards en su sexta edición el próximo 14 de noviembre.

Los documentales “Ascension” y “Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)”, lideran las nominaciones al ser nombrados cada uno en seis categorías.

Los Critics Choice Documentary Awards honran anualmente los documentales lanzados tanto en cines, como en televisión y plataformas digitales y se escogen por votación de los miembros de la Asociación de los Critics Choice. En la actualidad, reune a casi 500 críticos que trabajan en medios y periodistas de entretenimiento.

La asociación ha expresado a través de su presidente Christopher Campbell, que este ha sido un año “fantástico para la narración documental. La cantidad de documentalistas de largometrajes que aparecen por primera vez en los nominados junto con veteranos probados, muestra que el cine de no ficción continúa teniendo un futuro muy brillante. Nuestro mundo, desde sus maravillas más asombrosas hasta sus mayores desafíos, está siendo reflejado en la pantalla de manera tan inmediata y creativa por los cineastas de hoy, que es un gran honor para nosotros reconocer todos sus logros”.

El premio honorífico (The Pennebaker Award) será entregado al documentalista R.J. Cutler, director y productor de obras del género como Bilie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry, Bellushi, A Perfect Candidate, The September Issue y Listen To Me Marlon.
